I was in the Canadian Forces Army Reserves from April 1997 to August 2008. While my trade was Musician (or, "Bandie"), I decided that I wanted to walk the walk of a soldier as well, and spent several years teaching basic training and combat skills. I also took some good-natured ribbing about my trade. I retired as a Sergeant and joked about being a musician with an infantry problem.
